The Board of Directors helps decide the future of the association and shapes the voice of real estate in southwestern Montana. Their decisions help our organization better serve members and innovate for the future, guiding the direction of the association for years to come.


We are looking for talented and dedicated individuals to be a part of the leadership at GAR to be an essential component of the main decision making body of the Association.

position descriptions & qualifications

President-Elect

The President-Elect must have previously served two (2) years as a GAR Director, BSCMLS Director, or Gallatin REALTORS® Charitable Foundation Director; or as a Director at another REALTOR® Association prior to becoming a member of GAR.

-OR-

The President-Elect must have previously served one (1) year as a GAR Director, BSCMLS Director, or Gallatin REALTORS® Charitable Foundation Director; or as a Director at another REALTOR® Association prior to becoming a member of GAR; plus one (1) year of experience as Chair of an MAR or NAR committee.


1 Year & Moves on to President & Immediate Past President

Vice President

Candidates for election as an Officer (Executive Committee Member) of the Association must have previously served, or be currently serving, on the Board of Directors for a period of twelve (12) months before taking office, except for Treasurer. 

-OR-

A candidate for an Officer position (Executive Committee Member) must have previously served, or is currently serving, on the BSCMLS Board of Directors or Gallatin REALTORS® Charitable Foundation Board for a period of twelve (12) months before taking office as on Officer.


1 Year Term

Director

Candidates must have been a GAR REALTOR® member a minimum of 2 years prior to taking office and be in good standing. No person may be a candidate for more than one position, whether nominated by the Nominating Committee or by petition. Applicants must be involved in GAR, including a minimum of one (1) year of service on a committee, task force, or similar activity or shall have served on another REALTOR® Association Board or Committee for at least two (2) years before transferring to GAR; or have served on a nonprofit or not-for-profit Board, outside the REALTOR® association realm, for at least two (2) years. 


3 Seats Open for 3 Year Terms & 1 Seat Open for 1 Year Term

Application Deadline is 5:00 pm on July 31st
